Understanding purpose and action

Pope Francis gives voice to atheists suggesting that actions are more important determinant of character than beliefs or dogma. This is a great leap forward to eliminating injustice and persecution by churches and institutions everywhere, both religious and lay.
He makes reference to ‘nature’ being the people’s church and that it is not necessary to believe in God to be a good person. I would go further and say that if one believes that Nature is alive and that order cannot exist within chaos then one has to ask the question: can the laws of Nature and which direct Evolution not be directed by a Divine Choreographer? How can one rationally accept the concepts of chaos and order at the same time? The mystery of why certain living beings are selected to survive and others are not begs the question of what mystical force exists which makes this ‘natural selection’ or is it a Divine selection?
Theosophists, philosophers who study God and the nature of God, posit that all living beings have contracts with the invisible realm from which we come and to which we go when we leave the material physical realm.
We choose to be here for a short brief moment in time equivalent to a breath when compared to the age of the universe. During this short breath of time we are selected to have a purpose and to realize its manifestation.
We choose to follow our purpose or to resist it. Like a drop of water we can choose to evaporate into the sky and become cloud and fall as rain elsewhere on the planet or we can choose to follow the river to the ocean and reside deep into its depths only some billion years later to re-surface and evaporate, shed our salty beingness and become fresh water on which other plants can thrive. But the drop of water can also choose to freeze and become ice and remain glacier for billions of years; it depends on where you are on the planet and the environmental conditions for your purpose to be made manifest.
But that being said we have limited choices determined within our contract with natural laws, just like the drop of water, we follow a Divine natural order of laws: karma, change, consequences.
