Everyone has their personal karmic journey in each incarnation. It sometimes seems like a surprise or miracle when good things come our way and we wonder: What did I do to deserve this? We have the same reaction when something negative or disastrous happens to us? However either positive or destructive, both events appeared on our path for a reason: we had some positive karmic credit accumulated or we had some negative karmic debt to dissolve or resolve. We had placed ourselves in a time and place where a choice needed to be made which would help us evolve to a higher vibration or devolve into a lower realm of darkness and ignorance.
The measure of our spiritual evolution is in the manner in which we react or respond to situations which arise that are unexpected and which challenge our virtue or character: honesty and non-lying, generosity and non-stealing, moderation and non-excessiveness.
Which brings me to the discussion about destiny, choice, and free will. Most of the choices we make and take hinge on our past choices and our cultural conditioning and past patterns, programs, and choices. When you know someone you can probably predict behaviour just based on past performance.
But we are always surprised when synchronicity occurs, when two persons or events happen to intersect and we feel the chemistry of necessity and pleasure or dread. We sense a deja-vu or a sense that we were meant to collide or intersect at this particular time and that something absolutely lovely or terrifying is about to happen and we want to be part of it despite the consequences.
that’s being congruent with one’s karma.
It is also said that it is inappropriate to interfere with someone else’s karmic journey or path. This form of karmic interference has its consequences and its price to pay. The negative karma arises from attempting to control someone else’s karmic destiny through manipulation or coercion.
