Violence against women/men/children by celebrities-search for justice and compassion

Violence against women by celebrities- the list continues to grow- now with revered and respected Bill Cosby being the newest addition to the list of ‘alleged’ sexual abusers to be confronted publicly in the media since Jian Ghomeshi’s integrity has been challenged by multiple women.

What this does is foster a public climate of suspicion and doubt into the integrity of men and male celebrities and comedians. The stepping forward of abused women to the media for justice is positive and necessary.
I would hope that the quest for justice be tempered with compassion and understanding for both perpetrators and victims, that we are all implicated as this is a social crime of disrespect and abuse of power. A violation against one is a violation against all.

Reputations are  easily destroyed by false allegations yet imposing the light of day to these allegations is the only way to verify their truth and obtain justice for victims or vindicate the reputation of falsely accused ‘alleged perpetrators’ as might appear to be the case with Bill Cosby.

There is no fairness for someone to be trialed, judged, and convicted in the arena of public radio and tv and internet. We must balance our justice with tolerance and understanding and a measured constructive response involving reparation and retribution.

However when trialed and convicted of these serious offences there is still need for re-integration of perpetrators into society and dealing with the humiliation, shame, and woundedness which will be the consequences of incarceration. For the victims: though the wound is deep the healing will occur and the grieving will persist.
I send healing energies to all those involved in acts of aggression and disrespect against all persons. What is needed is self-love, compassion for others and de-personalization of identity and objectification of Humanity as sexual beings only. There needs to be a recognition of our soulful and spiritual nature which transcends our physical egoic identity and respects our emotional and mental natures which are communally and socially intertwined and connected.

This reality of violence and sexual abuse is a sin of the egoic separatist being who does not consider the inter-connected nature of all beings. This private hidden act of sexual and/or physical violence is an expression of anger projected against women, men, and children as acts of dominance and abuse of power.

These acts of lower emotional will are not mediated by the heart or mind but are our lowest instinctual primal motivated actions. Acts of sexual deviance which transgress physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual boundaries are unwholesome, immoral, and inappropriate violations of other beings rights to choice, protection, safety, and security.

There must be justice and there must be compassion.
