Karma and Sin- june 2014
People’s perceptions are as multiple as there are people. God’s will is not to be compared to human perceptions of choice/action/outcome.
God allows choice to occur because it is in ‘its’ nature to allow choice.
Choice is the gift which accompanies existence for those with consciousness.
Actions are the result of free will power and outcomes are the consequences.
The presence of ‘Evil’ on earth is the consequence or outcome of actions which have intent to hurt, to be cruel,to oppose God, love, and life.
“Evil” can only live in someone who perceives themselves as separate, permanent, and more powerful than God. They live a deluded sense of arrogance and disrespect for life and love.
Individuals who embody ‘Evil’ perceive themselves as ‘God unto themselves’, superior to God, and separate from God.
‘Evil-acting persons’ are self-directed and oriented and calculate actions and choices based on self-benefit cost analysis.
‘Evil-acting persons’ become physically and etherically detached from their Higher Soul. Their incarnated soul becomes lost and we can say that they are dis-spirited.
The choice to distance oneself from God is based on free will, is willful, and is subject to the law of Karma: one reaps what one sows. There is no cosmic or universal escape from this Law.
The option to restore one’s soulful connection to one’s Higher Soul is always possible when accompanied by remorse, regret, and intent to make amends to God and to those we’ve offended or hurt. This requires an openness to receipt of divine grace which is constantly being offered by God, the Father, to the prodigal ‘son/daughter’.
The Catholic church’s dogma is that we are born ‘in sin’ because of our fall from Divine Grace. This belief of a flawed human nature is a variation of the Buddhist belief that the human condition is affected by past life karma and is carried from one lifetime to the next through re-incarnation to allow the process of purification to raise Humanity towards enlightenment or perfection.
God created Humanity in it’s image; this doesn’t mean that God is a Human, it means that our Human form and soulful essence is in the image of God, not equal to God’s who is both essence/energy and substance/form, omnipresent, omniscient, and eternal.
To imply that all Humanity is born ‘in sin’ or in some tainted state does not deny our perfect Divinity which is our birthright and is manifest in the presence of our perfect incarnated soul. It makes sense that we carry a tainted karma along with a perfect soul which cannot be soiled. I say this because all esoteric teachings point to the fact that one cannot enter heaven in a tainted state with unresolved karma or ‘state of sin’.
The assumption that our consciousness is tainted with ‘natural sin’ is preposterous if we make the assumption that the soul is perfect and cannot be tainted. I do believe however that our mental/emotional body which accompanies our soul in the process of incarnation does carry with it a karma which has to be resolved during this incarnation or carried onto the next. One can use the word karma and sin to describe the human condition working to raise itself towards Divine perfection.
The premise is that we are born with some unfinished business or purification which must be achieved during this incarnation. Some are born with greater karmic purification attainment and some with less. This would perhaps explain why some children have a spiritual connection with the Divine, see angels, etc. while other children display only affection for the material dimension and aspects of reality which they demonstrate by an unwillingness to evolve or share. This is coined as -egotism- or selfishness or as -non-conformist. This distinguishes those who wish to share and evolve from those who insist on asserting separatism and ego-centeredness.
