I’m quickly discovering the futility in attempting to convert, cajole, or change people’s direction in life. The freedom which this realization brings grants me room to keep the focus on myself while not judging others for where they are.
When one leads one’s life from ‘mind’ the action of judging is central to daily perceptions and reality. However as one begins to stop judging and using mind as a dualistic sword of rationalization then one becomes more peaceful and heart-directed with compassion for others’ choices to be where they are.
It’s not for me to question or judge where others are in their evolution.
When people meet me they can’t discern that my peace and joy is derived from the process of spiritual evolution.
The peace and joy which arises from having ceased questing for answers where they are not to be found is foreign to most people.
Wealth comes from gratitude for all that we are and have been given; peace comes from knowing that we are alone yet loved and that we are One;
joy comes from the hope and trust that we can share love and compassion with those in need; performing acts of goodwill builds virtue and character which are the foundation for love,(compassion) light,(intelligence) and power;(will to do good): abundance and prosperity are the fruit of that labour.
Success comes from the knowledge and truth which accompanies it.
The role of the bodhisattva is not to convert others to a morally higher state of existence but to show Humanity that there is a different path which one can choose to achieve peace, joy, and love. The choice of which values one priorizes affects all future choices and resolutions of being, whether one values the peacefulness of being over the distraction of constantly doing or working to satisfy cravings and yearnings which only yield temporary gratifications of pleasure.
The path we choose depends on what we value. What we value determines what actions we take and what thoughts we entertain. The distractions which take us away from the path of spiritual evolution are multitudinous. There are many obstacles in life to stopping and being peace, joy, and love without expectations of returns or rewards. One finds peace, joy, and love when one stops seeking it, because the mystery of life is that peace, joy, and love are found within and not without, in ourselves and not in others or in the world. For what is without is mostly delusion and has no ultimate reality, only relative and subjective apparent existence.
One has to allow oneself to become empty to receive the fullness of the Universe. The only way to go through the eye of the needle is by becoming emptiness and allowing consciousness to be the Awl.
